Attending a programme will equip you with information and practical tools to help you make informed decisions about your future.

Our Programmes

We offer a range of programmes that can help you make sense of what has happened, and aim to develop your confidence and self-esteem, expand your knowledge and awareness, and enable you to meet others who have had similar experiences.

Freedom Programme

The programme is based on research that shows that in the majority of cases domestic abuse is committed by men against women. Each week looks at a different aspect of behaviour, looking at what the abuser says and how it is said, what the abuser does and why we believe them. It helps to identify the common tactics to gain power and control. The programme lasts for 12 weeks, with one 2 hour session a week, and it is only run during term time. The Freedom Programme also describes in detail how children are affected by being exposed to this kind of abuse and very importantly how their lives are improved when the abuse is removed. The group works to look at the characteristics that can create both abusive and caring relationships.

SEEDS: Healthy Brain, Healthy Body, Happy Life

Mental and physical health is all part of one big jigsaw puzzle, and we need all the pieces to fit together to remain healthy. Understanding the links between our mental and physical health builds emotional resilience, empowering us to take control of our emotional health, making positive choices for a happier, healthier life. SEEDS is a 6 week programme (delivered one half day each week) exploring how our brain interacts with our body. It provides tools and knowledge to help overcome destructive negative habits that may sabotage us and gives us the confidence and ability to move on from adverse life experiences which may hold us back. In addition SEEDS explores stress, anxiety, depression, sleep, diet and exercise. This programme is open to adults and is delivered in small friendly groups.

Seedlings: Nurturing healthy bodies and brains

This is a bespoke 6 week course, tailored to individual children aged 7-15 years. It includes age appropriate elements of the adult SEEDS programme and tackles any behavioural/trauma challenges, as well as looking at the link between physical and mental health, promoting emotional resilience. It is not group work but rather one-to-one sessions. The times for this course can be flexible but are generally after school and during term times. This can be delivered face-to-face or via zoom once a week.

“My boys have thrived during their Seedlings sessions with you. My youngest had a tool box of skills he used after the first session that helped him emotionally. It was like night and day! They have both grown in confidence. I cannot recommend you and your sessions enough, both for them and for me. My boys, who had previously been reluctant to discuss their feelings, had no problem vocalising their worries with you and knowing they’d be heard and supported. This has helped take pressure off of me”.
